A Tint of Lavender for The News and Observer
Return to: Bluebird Hill Farm
Mercedes-Benz USA ShadeFund Signature Entrepreneur Norma DeCamp Burns of Bluebird Hill Farms was featured in the ‘Home & Garden’ section of The News & Observer this weekend.
The article takes us through Norma’s incredible life’s story that eventually led to her most ambitious project: starting an organic lavender farm.
Norma’s recent success was also highlighted; In June, she was able to harvest all 500 lavender plants for the very first time thanks to the harvester she acquired with a ShadeFund loan.
Paul Poliyenko, a friend of Norma’s, was quoted as saying this about her: ‘“She's a remarkable lady."’
ShadeFund couldn’t agree more.

Natural resources need economic value to sustain and further the goals of conservation. ShadeFund is promoting that economic value and making triple bottom line results a reality.
